iDREAM Express serves exclusively homeless and out-of-school youth. We host classes for an average of 40 students– whom we call our Dreamers– twice a week.
Our Dreamers are divided into age groups and learn reading, writing and math. Time is also allotted for fun and games.
Overall, our program is made up of six main components:
- Imagination
- Discovery
- Research
- Education
- Art
- Music
These elements guide our mission and being an acronym, literally stand for who we are: iDREAM Express.
In addition, our Dreamers are provided with the following basic necessities– some of which they might not receive without the help of iDREAM Express:
- Food and water (we serve them a hot lunch at each class session)
- Hygiene care (their arms, legs and faces are washed)
- First-aid (their wounds and infections are treated)
- Proper clothing and footwear (donations of clothes, shoes and flip-flops are given to them)
